Trees Help You Stay In Shape

One of the easiest and cheapest ways to get exercise is to walk or run in your neighborhood or local park. People are willing to walk to their destination versus drive if a route they can take has greenery and natural features like trees. Trees also provide shade to blocks harmful UV rays and reduces overheating during hot, sunny days—allowing you to spend more time exercising outside. In the fall, the calories burned from racking and bagging leaves is equal to a brisk walk. So if your community wants to get healthier, encourage them to plant some trees along your streets.
